Coat Drive for Our Middle School

In true spirit of "Community", CMA's Valley Subaru visited Shelburne Middle School with arms full of brand-new winter coats as part of its heartwarming Subaru Loves to Help initiative. This generous dealership donated a whopping 108 NEW coats, ensuring that our students will stay safe, cozy, and warm throughout the upcoming colder months. We are profoundly grateful for dedicated community partners like CMA's Valley Subaru, who consistently go above and beyond to invest in the health, happiness, and overall well-being of our community. It is acts of kindness like this that remind us how lucky we are to be supported by such a caring local business.

Subaru has MAD love for the Staunton Arts Community!

From the very first email, the team at CMA's Valley Subaru treated the Staunton Downtown Development Association with kindness, encouragement, and genuine enthusiasm. As organizers of the inaugural MADcon, a brand new Music, Art, and Design convention in downtown Staunton, VA, much of what we were presenting was still vision, ambition, and belief in what our community could become. Charles Camp immediately saw the heart behind what we were building. Meeting Charles was an absolute delight. He was supportive, thoughtful, and sincerely invested from the very beginning. Instead of seeing MADcon as "just an idea," he recognized the effort, planning, and passion behind it, and trusted that it had the potential to become something meaningful for our region. CMA's Valley Subaru helped bring our Opening Night Sustainable Fashion Show to life, which was one of the signature events of the weekend. The show featured 5+ downtown boutiques, 3 local fashion designers, and a class of Industrial Design students from James Madison University. More than 30 models, ranging in age from 16 to 72 years old, participated in the event, creating an experience that truly spanned generations and highlighted the power of creativity to connect people from all walks of life. The fashion show sold out with more than 200 guests attending throughout the evening, and it sparked new collaborations, relationships, and inspiration that will continue shaping the future of fashion and design in our area. The following day, MADcon hosted 8 additional events across multiple downtown locations, including speakers, performances, workshops, and panel discussions, with another 170+ attendees participating throughout the day. Because of CMA's Valley Subaru's support and willingness to champion our vision in its very first year as the presenting sponsor, we were able to launch a major new annual event for downtown Staunton centered around creativity, collaboration, professional development, and community connection. Their partnership helped give legitimacy and momentum to a first-year event that has already made a lasting impact on our downtown and creative community. Not only did the attendees of the convention partake in MADcon, but all of the people passing by headquarters during the duration of the weekend learned what MADcon was because of the beautiful new line of Subaru's parked right out front of the doors of HQ. People all weekend stopped and asked what was going on, this gave us an opportunity to share about MADcon and gave Catherine Getz of CMA's Valley Subaru the opportunity to engage with downtown patrons during the Shop & Dine Out weekend as well as the visitors in town for the Stuart Hall Alumni weekend and the 20th season of the Staunton Music BaroqueFest. She was an absolute delight to have the entire weekend at the MADcon Headquarters. We are deeply grateful for the trust, encouragement, and generosity CMA's Valley Subaru showed us throughout the entire process. Their support went far beyond sponsorship...they truly believed in us.

Help us Build Character and Shape Lives Through the Game of Basketball

At Virginia Basketball Academy (VABA), our mission is simple but powerful: "Building Character and Shaping Lives through the Game of Basketball." We are incredibly grateful to CMA's Valley Subaru for partnering with us in bringing that mission to life. As a non-profit, faith-based organization, we are committed to developing young athletes both on and off the court. Through our focus on Faith, Heart, Responsibility, and Respect, we strive to teach life lessons that extend far beyond basketball. Thanks to the generous support of CMA's Valley Subaru, we are able to provide a structured, positive environment where kids of all skill levels can grow, learn, and thrive. Your sponsorship directly impacts our ability to serve the youth in our community. It helps us offer accessible programming, high-quality coaching, and meaningful mentorship rooted in our belief that "coaching is teaching." Because of your partnership, more young athletes have the opportunity to build confidence, develop discipline, and be part of something bigger than themselves. What makes CMA's Valley Subaru truly special is your commitment to giving back. You don't just support organizations—you invest in people and in the future of our community. Your actions reflect the true spirit of the Subaru Love Promise, and we are honored to be one of the organizations you stand beside. On behalf of all of our players, families, and coaches—thank you for believing in our mission and helping us shape lives, one player at a time.

Never ending love sharing!

I am a small town youth coach in rural Virginia. Our local Subaru Dealership ran by one of the greatest Managers I have ever met, Charles Camp, always shares the love with everyone of my youth teams. I coach the local req football team the Stuart's Draft Cougars, I coach a local travel football 10u team. Our local Subaru team has always been a sponsor every time I have asked for it! It's more then just money it moving young lives forward! Some of the children I coach would not have the opportunity to learn how to work as a team, to learn how to work hard for a common goal and be able to play a game they love with the support or Subaru! Thank you Valley CMA Subaru for always Sharing the Love!

BEST DAY EVER

Today we experienced a true Subaru Love Promise moment. ❤️ We had the honor of surprising Emma Peery, a wonderful Kindergarten teacher at Wenonah Elementary School, with the news that we would be adopting her classroom to help support their needs. Our team came together in the most incredible way. Employees nominated and voted for classrooms in need, and Emma's class quickly captured our hearts. With nearly 80% of the students living below the poverty level, we knew this was where we wanted to make a difference. To support them, we're launching employee donations, customer round-ups, and a classroom supply drop-off, all leading up to the end of the month to help provide the resources they need to learn and grow. But today was about joy. We walked into the classroom with bags full of fun - Subaru swag, MOO MOO Subaru cows, coloring books, brand new crayons, sunglasses, comic brownies, and juice boxes. The excitement on the kids' faces as they opened their goodie bags was priceless. Their smiles lit up the entire room. And Emma's reaction? Pure surprise and gratitude. But the biggest surprise came from the kids themselves. As we were leaving, one little voice shouted: "BEST DAY EVER!" In that moment, we realized something important - while we came to bring joy to them, they gave us something even bigger in return. This is what the Subaru Loves Learning initiative is all about. This is why Subaru is more than just a car company. And this is why coming to work isn't just a job - it's a privilege. Moments like this remind us that even small acts of kindness can leave lifelong impressions on these little learners… and on our hearts as well. #SubaruLovesLearning 💙

SUBARU: DRIVING INNOVATION IN EDUCATION THROUGH COMMUNITY SUPPORT

When it comes to making a meaningful difference, CMA Valley Subaru continues to set the standard for community-focused leadership. In 2025, their generosity and commitment to education were on full display through their support of the Valley Alliance for Education (VAE) and its mission to inspire students and empower educators across the region. CMA Valley Subaru proudly sponsored VAE's Annual Golf Tournament, a cornerstone fundraising event that provides critical funding for the Creative Classroom Grants program serving Staunton, Augusta County, and Waynesboro Public Schools. This program enables local teachers to bring innovative ideas to life, supporting hands-on STEM learning, artistic exploration, and creative problem-solving initiatives that engage students and ignite a love of learning. Through Subaru's support, classrooms become spaces of curiosity and discovery, where students are encouraged to think critically, collaborate, and reach their full potential. These grants directly impact teachers and students alike, fostering creativity and innovation in ways that extend far beyond the classroom walls. CMA Valley Subaru elevated this year's tournament experience by offering an extraordinary hole-in-one prize: a brand-new Subaru. This exciting addition energized participants and reflected Subaru's deep commitment to giving back to the community they proudly serve. Held at The Club at Ironwood Golf Course on May 30, 2025, the tournament brought together educators, local businesses, and community members for a day of camaraderie, connection, and shared purpose. Every swing helped build a brighter future, with proceeds directly supporting classroom grants that benefit students throughout the region. As the tournament concluded, one message was clear: CMA Valley Subaru's impact goes far beyond business. Their partnership with the Valley Alliance for Education strengthens local schools, uplifts educators, and helps shape the next generation of thinkers, creators, and leaders. By investing in education and innovation, Subaru continues to drive positive change where it matters most.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Delivery

CMA’s Valley Subaru partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and UVA Health Cancer Center Augusta through the Subaru Loves to Care initiative. This partnership involved delivering blankets, patient care kits and messages of hope to cancer patients on June 16th, 2025. This year, CMA’s Valley Subaru will also support the LLS Urgent Need Program, Pediatric, which will provide blood cancer patients financial relief to help offset non-medical costs associated with treatment, such as transportation, food, housing, utilities, etc.

CMA's Valley Subaru Teams Up to Support Local Community

Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in STAUNTON, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why CMA's Valley Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like CMA's Valley Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 02/14/2025, CMA's Valley Subaru donated 120 coats to Valley Mission, Inc.. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

"A Mile of Care" CMA’s Valley Subaru Gives Back: Road Cleanup on Route 262

On the warm morning of Friday, May 2, 2025, the team at CMA’s Valley Subaru took to Route 262 with gloves, bags, and a shared mission—to clean up the stretch of highway they’ve proudly adopted through the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Adopt-a-Highway program. Led by Store Manager Charles, the crew spent the morning walking the roadside, picking up litter, and showing just how much they care about the Shenandoah Valley community. “Let’s take care of this road like we take care of our customers—like family,” Charles said as the team gathered before the cleanup. Throughout the morning, passing drivers waved, honked, and even shouted their thanks. The sense of community was strong, and the impact was immediate. By the end of the cleanup, bags of litter were collected, and the roadside looked refreshed and cared for—ready to greet locals and visitors alike. The day ended with a quick group photo under the new “Adopt-a-Highway: CMA’s Valley Subaru” sign. More than just a roadside marker, it’s a symbol of the dealership’s ongoing commitment to the community they proudly serve. At CMA’s Valley Subaru, caring goes beyond the showroom floor—it’s about rolling up sleeves, getting involved, and leaving the Valley a little better than they found it. Because CMA truly is: "Moving Lives Forward."

Thank you!

Thank you so very much for the $500 donation I received for my Kindergarten classroom. The money was used to purchase a brand new rug as well as several reading games. The students were so excited when they came into class and saw our colorful new rug. Fridays are game day in reading groups, and now we have some great new games that help us learn and have fun at the same time. I greatly appreciate the very generous donation and the support of CMA's Valley Subaru. Thank you for your kindness and your commitment to our schools!

CMA Valley Subaru Helps Us “Drive” Success

A huge thank you to CMA Valley Subaru for supporting our recent VHSL Foundation Golf Tournament Fundraiser! Their generous sponsorship played a key role in the event’s success and helped us raise funds for student-athletes across Virginia. We’re incredibly grateful for their commitment to giving back and supporting our local community. We appreciate you sharing the love and helping our student-athletes thrive on and off the field!

Little League Basketball Sponsorship

I coach little league girls' basketball and we were in need of sponsors. I also work in the accounting department at CMA Valley Dealerships, so I knew right away who to ask. CMA Valley Subaru was happy to sponsor not only my daughter's team that I coach but also my sons' team. Sponsorships are what help make Rec Leagues possible! We were so thankful this year for the donation we received from CMA Valley Subaru and for their generosity to give back to the community they serve!

Thank you from LLS, CMA's Valley Subaru!

We at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) are so proud to be commemorating our decade-long partnership with Subaru of America this year. As our most generous auto partner, Subaru continues to make a remarkable impact for patients and families in your community and around the country. This year, CMA's Valley Subaru is among 312 retailers across the country supporting the Urgent Need Pediatric & Young Adult Program (UNP), an increase of 24 retailers from last year. This amounts to $1,182,500 in total impact, helping eligible patients cover essential non-medical costs like rent, utilities, childcare, food, transportation, car insurance, lodging, and phone service. The funds you are providing help ease the financial burden these families experience, allowing them to focus more on what is most important — their health & loved ones. You are also among 634 retailers across the country who enrolled overall. The blankets and messages of hope you are providing are a constant reminder that these patients are never alone. It’s programs like this and people like you who help change the lives of all those affected by blood cancer. Your commitment to LLS is inspiring, and I am grateful for your continued support. As we enter this next phase of our partnership, focused on achieving even more for patients and families, your involvement is invaluable. We look forward to another incredible year.

Subaru: Driving Innovation in Education through Community Support

When it comes to making a meaningful impact, CMA Valley Subaru exemplifies what it means to be a community-focused business. In 2024, Valley Subaru’s generosity and commitment to education took center stage as they proudly supported the Valley Alliance for Education (VAE) and its mission to inspire students and empower educators. Through their sponsorship of VAE’s Annual Golf Tournament, Subaru once again demonstrated their dedication to fostering innovation in classrooms. The Annual Golf Tournament, a cornerstone fundraising event for VAE, raises essential funds for the Creative Classroom Grants program in Staunton, Augusta, and Waynesboro Public Schools. This initiative allows local teachers to apply for grants that support innovative and engaging classroom projects. These projects bring education to life, whether through hands-on STEM experiments, artistic explorations, or creative problem-solving challenges. By providing these opportunities, the grants spark curiosity and enthusiasm among students, helping them reach their full potential. As part of their support, Valley Subaru added an unforgettable highlight to this year’s event: a brand-new Subaru as the "hole-in-one" prize. This remarkable gesture not only elevated the excitement for tournament participants but also underscored their unwavering commitment to giving back to the community. Held at Ironwood Golf Course on May 31, 2024, the golf tournament brought together community members, local businesses, and educators for a day of camaraderie and purpose. Every swing of the club contributed to a brighter future for local students, as proceeds from the event directly funded classroom grants. As the tournament came to a close, one thing was abundantly clear: Valley Subaru’s support goes beyond business. It’s about making a lasting difference in the lives of students, teachers, and families throughout the community. Valley Alliance for Education’s work is stronger thanks to Subaru’s dedication, and by standing behind the Creative Classroom Grants program, Subaru is helping to inspire the next generation of thinkers, creators, and leaders.

Hands That Helped: 2023

CMA Valley Subaru Share the Love maximized Giving Words' impact on single parent families in Central Virginia. With their generous donation included, we were able to give away 5 cars, repair 43 cars, and provide other assistance. We cannot measure how many problems were averted and activities were enjoyed, but we can say that about 84 moms and 168 children had reliable transportation or other needs met and a supportive team only a phone call away. Check out the Mom Story below for one example of a family that Subaru and Giving Words changed. Words cannot explain how much you guys have helped my family. We were in a domestic violence situation that we were forced out of our home, and we became homeless and had to go into a shelter. My kids' father trashed our car on purpose he left us with nothing. After Eddie and Allison did all they could to fix my car and it was deemed totaled, they pushed through and gave me a car - an awesome car! After walking for so long, carrying groceries and two kids, and moving shelter to shelter, Giving Words made it possible for my son to get back in school. I'm lost for words and still in shock that they gave my family transportation to work, to school, everywhere. It was a total game changer. They have given me the step I needed to get on my feet. I will be forever grateful. Eddie and Allison are amazing people. I will always be grateful for what they did for me."

Flippy the Whale and Subaru

I am the President of Shenandoah Green, a local Environmental Organization in Staunton, Virginia. One day I happened to be in the Subaru showroom and noticed that there were bins for recycling. I was so impressed. I’ve always loved my Subaru and had heard about the Subaru Love Promise and their desire to be a positive force in the community. I decided to tell them the story of Flippy the Whale, Shenandoah Green’s mascot. When I did, they immediately fell in love with Flippy and wanted to support the whale replica whose mission it is to spread the word about recycling and plastic pollution. Subaru became sponsors of Flippy and of Earth Day Staunton which is part of Shenandoah Green. They also participated in Earth Day at Gypsy Hill Park, alongside Flippy, showcasing their electric vehicles. If you were at Earth Day, you probably saw both Flippy and Subaru working hard to share different ways of being kind to the Earth and loving the Earth. If you happen to be in the Subaru showroom, look for a copy of the Flippy coloring book! Flippy is a rebar and chicken wire replica of a real-life size fifteen-foot juvenile whale that beached itself in the Philippines in 2019 and died with eighty-eight pounds of plastic in its stomach. When Shenandoah Green decided to take the message of plastic pollution to the schools, the idea of building a life-size whale seemed like a challenging, but brilliant idea. Engineering students at the Virginia Military Institute designed and built the whale. On its way from Lexington to Staunton, the whale stopped at Bessie Weller Elementary School. The students there bonded with the whale and decided to have a contest to name the whale. The winning name was Flippy. Flippy migrates to schools and organizations. Folks, young and old put plastic in Flippy to show what happens with plastic in the ocean. Flippy has also been in the Christmas parade the past two years. In 2022, Flippy won first place in the Christmas parade in the Non-Profit category. In 2023 it won a prize in the Celebration of Holiday Lights at Gypsy Hill Park. Wherever Flippy goes, kids cry out, “There’s Flippy the Whale!” “Flippy, Flippy!” Flippy is far more famous and popular than any one in Shenandoah Green! Thank you, Subaru, for helping to keep Flippy migrating from school to school or just being out on the town!

Softball Team Sponsorship

Our daughter plays for a travel softball team. To offset the financial costs of tournament entry fees and equipment, the team seeks local business sponsors. CMA's Valley Subaru was quick to step forward this year as a sponsor. The financial obligation for some families can be daunting and participation may not be possible without help from local businesses. We are thankful for local businesses who strive to pour back into the communities that they serve. Thank you, Valley Subaru!

CMA Cars and Cans Food Drive to benefit the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank

Earlier this spring, the executive assistant at CMA called me about a food drive that they host every year to benefit the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. The Cars and Cans Food Drive demonstrates the generosity of the people in and around the Shenandoah Valley. The CMA dealerships collected over 1000 pounds of food, enough to make about 907 meals for guests of the Food Bank. We're so grateful to partner with organizations like CMA as we work to set a place at the table for everyone. With the support of this kind-hearted community we can ensure that everyone has enough to eat. Thanks!

Helping those who need you most!

The Boys & Girls Club of Waynesboro, Staunton, and Augusta County, was grateful to receive a $8,200 donation from CMA, in December 2023. With this generous donation, the club has been able to continue to provide quality programs and care to our local community at minimal cost to our families. Donations like these help us to serve those who need us most, without putting more pressure on our families. We are continuously grateful for CMA's commitment to our community.

Operation Warm-Valley Mission INC.

In a beautiful gesture of support and kindness, CMA's Valley Subaru donated a collection of warm, durable jackets to our homeless shelter, ensuring that those in need were able to face the colder months with a bit more comfort and warmth. Subaru's commitment to making a difference in the community is truly inspiring. Acts of kindness like this that can change the world, one warm jacket at a time. We're reminded of the power of community and the impact we can make when we come together to support each other. To everyone at Subaru, from all of us, and from those who received a warm winter jacket because of your generosity, thank you. Your kindness warms more than just the body; it warms our hearts.

Gift of Warmth

CMA Valley Subaru is very generous. They donated so many winter coats of all sizes. The children have been so excited to have new coats. Thank you for supporting our community.

A #StauntonKIND story

On February 19, CMA's Valley Subaru generously donated hundreds of coats to Bessie Weller Elementary School and Dixon Educational Center as part of their Subaru Loves to Help Operation Warm initiative. This contribution will go a long way in keeping our students cozy and warm this year and next. Both of these schools have a high number of families who are underserved and could use the extra support. Our Bessie Weller clothes closet is well utilized and many students don't have the basics, including a coat to keep them warm throughout the winter. We have a Kindness Matters campaign in our schools and we believe this donation exemplifies what it means to be kind, compassionate and good corporate citizens. We call it #StauntonKIND. Thank you for being #StauntonKIND!

Sharing Warmth & Love to Local Cancer Patients

CMA's Valley Subaru continues to go above and beyond to support patients with blood cancer. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) partnered for another amazing year with Valley Subaru to give local patients in the Fishersville / Greater Staunton area battling a cancer diagnosis love, hope, and warmth with a donation of 80 blankets, 50 patient care kits, and Messages of Hope. LLS is grateful to Subaru for their year-round commitment to give back to the communities they serve. Every 3 minutes, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with a blood cancer. Together, we want to help courageous members of our community and their families who are facing diagnoses. Thank you, CMA's Valley Subaru, for joining the fight against cancer with us!

Messages of Hope

The staff at CMA's Valley Subaru hand wrote messages of hope for the UVA Hope Cancer Center Augusta. They were also able to deliver blankets, and arts and craft kits through a partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) and the Subaru Loves to Care® initiative. Everyone was delighted with the donations, and this was able to brighten the days of those seeking treatments at our local facility.

Waynesboro Quarterback Club

The Waynesboro Quarterback Club cheer program has been in desperate need of purchasing new cheer uniforms for our athletes. The last time uniforms had been purchased was prior to 2017. We have worked hard at fundraising by doing bake sales, selling merchandise and athletic events, but it’s the support we receive from area businesses that really help us the most. We would like to thank CMA Subaru for their donation and for helping our program purchase new cheer uniforms for the upcoming 2023 youth football/cheer season. The uniforms have been purchased and the girls love them!

Going Above and Beyond Yet Again

CMA Valley Subaru is synonymous with community support and dedication. The Shenandoah valley is a tight community and when a business is good for the community, everyone knows. Valley Alliance for Education is a non profit organization that awards classroom grants to public educators in Staunton city, Waynesboro city and Augusta county. This year we were able to fund every grant recommended for funding; we awarded more than $30,000 in classroom grants and that's in large part due to the support of businesses like CMA Valley Subaru. We held our second annual golf tournament. We decided to offer a hole in one win a car and without a doubt knew which dealer we'd love to work with. Without hesitation CMA Valley Subaru said yes right away. We had a full field of golfers and brought in more money than last year. That was in large part due to CMA Valley Subaru's involvement. Thank you CMA Valley Subaru for always being willing to give to the community. You truly are such an asset. Liz Fravel VAE President Golf Chair

Step UP for Down Syndrome in the Valley 1K & Family Festival

CMA's Valley Subaru has generously supported the Virginia Down Syndrome Association for the Step UP for Down Syndrome in the Valley 1K & Family Festival in 2022 and coming up again on August 26, 2023. This fundraising and community awareness event supports our organization to be able to provide education, social programming, caregiver support, and family care to our member families. We are so grateful for the support of CMA's Valley Subaru. Thank you so much!

For a Better Us!

The Staunton-Augusta YMCA located in Staunton, Virginia was very fortunate and grateful to have CMA's Valley Subaru's sponsor T-shirts for our first 5K Fun Run/Walk event held in June to benefit our Annual Giving Campaign which provides funding for those in our community who might need assistance in affording programs and memberships to our YMCA. Sponsoring our shirts meant that we could devote more of our funds to the campaign and provide a fun event for those who registered. We cannot thank CMA's Subaru enough for helping us help others!

Take Me Out To The Ballgame

CMA's Valley Subaru committed to another year of supporting their hometown Staunton Braves baseball team by hosting a Pack the Park night. Everyone gets in free, they gave away Subaru swag, and cheered on the team. Thanks to CMA's Valley Subaru for their continued commitment to giving back to their community!

Riverheads Diamond Club Sponsor

I am the Head Coach for one of the Riverheads Diamond Club Baseball and Softball League. This league was just founded this year in the local area. With that being said we were building from the ground up to create an organization for youth to come and grow as a person, teammate and athlete. When I reached out to CMA's Valley Subaru they quickly responded happy to sponsor our team. Sponsoring our team meant we could get actual uniforms for all our players, game balls, and equipment for all of our games and practices. To some it may be just be tee ball but to these kids its so much more. When they show up to games all dressed in their uniforms the smile with pride, every hit, catch and base ran fills them with excitement and love for the sport. With out the support of Community, and great business's like CMA's Valley Subaru supporting us we would not be able to provide these opportunities for the children. Thank you so much Valley Subaru for sponsoring our team!

Doing the Most Good

Thanks to CMA's Valley Subaru for their sponsorship of the Salvation Army Banquet. CMA's Valley Subaru will Help Education Flourish in Harrisonburg

CMA's Valley Subaru joins other businesses and individuals to support Harrisonburg Education Foundation's (HEF) second annual Flourish appeal. Despite the challenges in our world and in schools everywhere, HEF supports and amplifies the positive work happening in our local city schools. HEF focus continues to celebrate the tireless efforts of educators, provide funding for innovative ideas in learning, and assist students with the ever-rising expense of college. A strong public education system is one of the greatest assets of any community. By appreciating, communicating, and collaborating with our teachers, we build a stronger and more stable education system for our students. Flourish energizes and inspires the best in our community for the sake of our children’s futures. The appeal runs mid-February to when school gets out and ends with a wonderful event, Bloom in the Burg, that brings together donors and educators.

Subaru Donates 1,000 Pairs of Socks to Valley Mission

Everyone benefits from a pair of dry, warm socks, especially on a cold and dreary day. On Friday, March 3rd, Valley Mission Director Susan Richardson and Building & Grounds Manager Tim Galford received 1,000 pairs of socks from the Subaru Loves to Help® program. This generous gift will allow each Valley Mission resident to receive new socks, and socks will also be distributed to the needy in our community who visit our dining hall on a daily basis. We are thrilled to be able to partner with our local Subaru dealer once again. Our non-profit greatly benefits from the kindness of local businesses, and Subaru has been a loyal contributor to helping the homeless for the past four years. Adopt a Shelter Dog

Through our partnership with CMA Valley Subaru, we hosted an adoption event on October 22, 2022 at our shelter. We received this update from a very lucky pup's new adopter. Hello! Oshie is doing wonderful, and has been an amazing addition to my life! He loves visiting my nephews in Charlottesville, he loves his bed, and he also taken a love for all the other furniture in the house :o) When we're outside, he loves to take walks, and he loves playing with my next door neighbors' two dogs. All the best, Oshie & Joe

McSwain Elementary Loves Subaru!

Like many careers, jobs and businesses, the last couple of years have been exceptionally challenging for teachers. Not only has the pandemic changed our ways of thinking and living, many children have lasting consequences from the isolation and limited learning opportunities while at home. I hear many stories about teachers being heroes and the public recognizing the tremendous job teachers do each and every day. While I don’t want to discount those positive stories, the Subaru Loves Learning efforts go way above and beyond celebrating and appreciating teachers across the country! Our local Subaru dealership, CMA Valley Subaru, and the general manager, Mr. Charles Camp, nominated 10 of our outstanding teachers for Subaru Loves Learning donations to the classrooms. What a heartwarming celebration as Mr. Camp and staff from CMA Valley Subaru visited our school! Not only did Mr. Camp celebrate and thank teachers but his efforts to celebrate students was above and beyond. Every student received a notebook and pen with the Subaru logo! They were thrilled! In a world of many conflicts and negative stories in the news, events like “Subaru Loves Learning” are what truly matters. Nominated teachers purchased books for classroom libraries, flexible seating and instructional games that will have a positive impact on student learning. Thank you to Subaru, CMA Valley Subaru and Mr. Charles Camp for recognizing the impact and importance of teachers in our children’s futures. YOU have made a difference at McSwain Elementary!

Augusta County Sheriff's Office Donuts with a Deputy

The Augusta County Sheriff's Office hosted its 5th Annual "Donuts with a Deputy" event on October 22. This program allows community members, especially children, to have positive interactions with the deputies and to get to know the men and women that serve their community. This year we had over 400 people at Clymore Elementary in Fort Defiance. There was a coloring contest, a K9 demonstration and plenty to eat and drink. These events would not be possible without generous donors like CMA's Valley Dealerships! Thank you for your continued support!

Make a dogs day

CMA's Valley Subaru hosted a pet friendly event during the National Make a Dogs Day this past Saturday. Dogs could get their picture taken, enjoy a tasty dog treat, and leave with a squish Subaru WRX dog toy.

Messages of Hope

The staff at CMA's Valley Subaru hand wrote messages of hope for the UVA Hope Cancer Center Augusta. They were also able to deliver blankets, and arts and craft kits through a partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and the Subaru Loves to Care Program. Everyone was delighted with the donations and this was able to brighten the days of those seeking treatments at our local facility.

Subaru's 'Share the Love' campaign helps local foster care agency support their mission

People Places was honored to be selected as the 2022 recipient of Valley Subaru’s Share the Love campaign. People Places is a local, nonprofit foster care agency that has been serving the Valley communities for over 45 years. We provide foster care, adoption, and community-based services (mostly youth and family mentoring) with the goal of fulfilling our mission to foster resilience in children and families so they can thrive. We were blown away by the community support and the commitment of the Valley Subaru team when we were presented with the largest donation our organization has ever received! These funds will help support our programming and provide services for local children and youth that will encourage both growth and healing throughout their time with us.

CMA Supports Balloons Over Rockbridge

Thanks to the continued support of sponsors like CMA’s Valley Dealerships, Balloons Over Rockbridge is able to provide two days of music, vendors, food and hot air balloons (weather permitting) for those in the Rockbridge County area as well as attendees from across the state. Each year our Balloons Over Rockbridge Hot Air Balloon Festival donates all proceeds from our festival to local Rockbridge County charities and non-profits. We are grateful for the continued sponsorship of businesses like CMA’s Valley Dealerships, who help with our mission of giving back to our community.

Guy K Stump PTA Fun Run

Thank you to CMA’s Valley Subaru for becoming one of our sponsors for the Fun Run! With your sponsorship you helped us provide a bag, a water bottle and bracelets for all of the students at Guy K Stump Elementary School! It was our most normal PTA fundraiser this year due to COVID and the students absolutely loved it! They fundraised for money from family and friends as well to see how much they could run around the track and these kids did great! We were given a sunny but windy day to run, and took each grade out separately to promote distancing due to COVID - the excitement from these children was contagious even in masks! Funding raised supports yearly programs within the PTA such as One School, One Book; Movie Licensing; Teacher Grants; Music Programs; Art Programs; Lanyards for Masks for every child at the beginning of this year; and Kids events usually (though this year with COVID this was not done), and this year we will be sending a book home with each child at the end of the year. Excess funds are placed in the Playground Fund as we are trying to replace the playground equipment at our school. We want to thank you for your support in our fundraising efforts! This fundraiser was one small piece to our large goal that we hope to achieve over the next year! Thank you for using your Love Promise to help your local community, to help us keep our kids healthy with running and walking, and to help us educate them by keeping programs going through PTA funding, and ultimately help with our long term goal of a new playground. We appreciate you! Guy K Stump Elementary School PTA Co- Presidents Tara Mahanes & Sarah McGill

A Bittersweet Purchase

We had a 10-year old Subaru Forester and probably would have kept it another 10 years if my dad hadn't suddenly passed away leaving my mom behind. They had just moved near us before he passed and we needed to be able to bring mom with us to places but our family of 5 took up the whole Forester! I wrote to the sales person from 10 years ago and explained the situation, especially that I am grieving and have no bandwidth for the usual sales song and dance. Charles Camp connected me to a fabulous saleswoman Luce Dorvilliers who loaned me a test-drive and negotiated our purchase (Subaru Ascent 2021) quickly and effortlessly. I may have shed some tears, but that was just saying goodbye to our Forester, not because the buying process was difficult or stressful. We are so grateful to our Subaru dealer! And now, Mom comes with us wherever we go and there's plenty of room!

Blankets of Hope--Valley Mission Blanket Donation

As the Assistant Director of the Valley Mission, I would like to thank CMA Valley Subaru and the Subaru Loves program for donating 80 Blankets to our Residents. We were able to give each adult Resident a blanket. Having a new blanket means more to our Residents than most people would realize. Receiving something that is new and their own that they can take with them is very important and special to them. The generosity of Subaru and the CMA group is greatly appreciated and will continue to provide warmth and security to our Residents even after they have moved on from Valley Mission. Michele Waitier Assistant Executive Director Valley Mission

Subaru Shares The Love with Samuel's Supper

Thank you to everyone at CMA's Valley Subaru for choosing Samuel's Supper as their hometown charity for the 2020 Subaru Share the Love Event! It is an honor to be affiliated with the Carter Myers Automotive group and to be chosen as this year’s local funding recipient. Donations from this event will support Samuel’s Supper in its mission to help families who are caring for a critically ill child. CMA's Valley Dealerships are committed to assisting with community needs, and they have proven to be a reliable source of support for Samuel’s Supper over the years. On multiple occasions, CMA assisted Samuel’s Supper in providing vehicles to families who needed dependable transportation to and from essential medical treatments at UVA Children’s Hospital. Not only did the CMA Valley Group provide safe, pre-owned vehicles at a greatly reduced price, they also offered exceptional service on those vehicles months after purchase. Thanks CMA's Valley Subaru!

Camp LIGHT is offered to families at no cost so that children with medical, physical, behavioral, and other special needs, have the opportunity to participate in the program despite their financial situation. Because of the big hearts of the Valley Subaru team, they were able to raise over $23,000 to support Camp LIGHT…that’s enough to cover the cost of 78 campers attending! SDES Loves CMA's Valley Subaru

Stuarts Draft Elementary School was excited and honored to receive CMA’s Valley Subaru’s donation of STEM books for our school. The investment by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the Subaru Loves Learning program has enriched the lives of our students. Sixteen of our third graders proudly accepted the books on behalf of the school. The excitement of receiving the books along with the understanding of what it means to donate, impacted these third graders in a positive way. The books were distributed to each of our 32 grade level classrooms PreK-5, four resource teachers, and two reading specialists. The books support our science curriculum, in addition to incorporating reading skills our students need to be strategic readers. Our STEAM Lab also benefited from this generous donation. This hands-on classroom provides a space for STEM and Problem Based Learning activities. We were able to stock it with the AAAS books that contain science labs for all grade levels. This has provided teachers with additional resources to prepare our students for careers in STEM fields. Our fifth grade Young Authors came together and had the opportunity to read a copy of all the books we received and write thank you letters to CMA’s Valley Subaru. The enthusiasm generated from reading these books was hard to contain. Two of their favorites were What Do They Do With That Poo? by Jane Kurtz and Living and Nonliving Things by Kevin Kurtz. Part of our school’s mission statement reads “SDES will continue to create compelling, rigorous, and engaging learning experiences for our students.” These donated books will help support our school’s mission. Stuarts Draft Elementary School is fortunate to be in a community that has businesses like Subaru who are committed to giving back.

Valley Subaru Supports Montebello Fire Department

It is not unusual to travel graveled roads of our rural mountainous community and pass a Subaru or two. The hub of our community is the Montebello Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) for fire rescue. When the alarm sounds our volunteers respond. Subaru's navigate the twists and turns of these narrow unpaved roads as well as, wildlife, fallen rocks and weather challenges. We do the best we can with what we have, however being a small community funding is not available to purchase new and updated rescue vehicles and equipment. Purchases routinely are of used nature and often require repair. MVFD staying in operation is dependent not only on time and talents volunteered by local residents but also its donations from those who value the service provided for this community. With the Appalachian trail running through Montebello our units are often called to locate lost or injured hikers along with responding to various other rescue scenarios. Without the generosity of others, there would be no MVFD and residents would have to rely on rescue response from the next closest fire station that is 25 mins away and 10.5 miles down the mountain. We want to thank Valley Subaru for their sizable donation to the MVFD. Valley Subaru's donation will help support the tireless and essential work of our all-volunteer Subaru driving fire department, so that we may continue to offer rescue response. Pictured is all members of the MVFD and their Subaru's.

SUBARU/LLS BLANKETS FOR CANCER PATIENTS

The staff at Valley Subaru in Staunton, VA, led by Marketing & Special Events Coordinator Laura Campbell, are bubbly and full of energy. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) was honored to partner with the team there once again for the Subaru Loves To Care Program. During the month of June, the Subaru sales folks encouraged their customers to write Messages of Hope on special index cards. Those Care Cards were delivered to patients on Thursday, July 19, 2018, along with 80 blankets and 50 arts and craft kits. Sandy Bower of UVA Hope Cancer Center Augusta was thrilled to receive the delivery. She shared that last year’s blankets truly meant something special to their patients, and they were honored to receive another supply of blankets. This year we were also joined by General Sales Manager Charles Camp and his precious daughter. She was instrumental in helping us unload the boxes and was the center of attention for the group photo. The nurses on site, especially those who were unfamiliar with the program, were delighted to see all of the donations. Considering the donation of arts & craft kits was optional on the retailer’s part this year, UVA Hope Cancer Center was grateful to receive all 50 kits from Valley Subaru.
